THE CAMP EXPERIENCE
Here’s a new video I think sums up the camp experience quite nicely.
Our kickoff camp welcomed: 77 musicians; aged from 10-70; 24 states; and 6 countries. Campers brought a wide range of styles and created a community of support, sharing, and learning. We stretched our brains, challenged ourselves, plugged in, grooved out, jammed, danced, and performed…which was just what I was hoping for. Even though it’s a “fiddle” camp, we’re open to any instruments interested in studying with this fantastic faculty in this setting, as long as they don’t mind being around a vio-centric group…in fact, we love a wild card.
The camp finished with a sold out show featuring faculty, students, and one giant finale with everyone. I’ll be sharing the pieces at my YouTube channel in the coming weeks so be sure to subscribe.
2025 FACULTY LINEUP
In the spirit of showcasing singular creative voices on the instrument, I’m thrilled to welcome two new faculty: indie violin/vocal/songwriting sensation Kishi Bashi and innovative jazz artist/composer/collaborator Jenny Scheinman. With pleasure, I’ll once again be joined by my mentors Darol Anger (5-string fiddle) and Jamey Haddad (rhythm) along with our unstoppable “house band” of Megan McCormick (guitar/songs) and Zachary Brown (cello/bass). What a stellar group!
FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLORSHIPS / SPONSORSHIPS
Financial aid is available, including one full scholarship for a youth and their parent/guardian to attend. For more info, visit our website.
If you or someone you know, might be interested in pitching in for year two, please keep these opportunities in mind:
Assisting with financial aid for aspiring musicians
Enriching our curriculum with cutting-edge equipment
Helping us bring celebrated international faculty to share their expertise
If you’d like to help in those areas or others, we’d love to talk about the possibilities. Please reach out to me or email info@blueridgefiddlecamp.com. (Brevard Music Center is a 501c3 and donations are tax deductible.)
Blue Ridge Fiddle Camp is produced in partnership with Mountain Song Productions and Brevard Music Center, and I couldn’t present this immersive experience without the generous support of our returning sponsors NS Design, Schertler, The Violin Shop, Electric Violin Shop, EarthQuaker Devices, Electro-Harmonix, Boss, Eventide, J.Halenar Violins, and Andal Bows.
Hope to see you in 2025!
