Hello there! I'm Emmette Driessen and I'm on a 9 month trip around the world with my parents. So far we’ve been to 6 countries, and right now I'm in Finland. Throughout this blog I’m gonna tell you about my experience in Kyoto, Japan & Kamakura, Japan...On with the blog.🤪
On the day we arrived in Kyoto it was already night, so we headed to our AirBnb in a cab. The next day, we went to the store to get some groceries so we could eat. Then we went to have lunch and guess where... WE HAD LUNCH AT A SUSHI TRAIN RESTAURANT! If you don't know what that is, it is a restaurant where they seat you at a table, and there is a little conveyor belt that has sushi on plates going around and you can grab whatever you want. It was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

Next, I'm going to tell you about the market. The market was very VERY large. There was everything from chopstick stores to dog cafes. It was quite interesting really.
I remember the dog cafe. It had Shiba Inus, and there were 2 or 3 boys, 1 puppy and 3 girls. (This is a link to a site that tells you about Shiba inus if you did not know what type of dog they were Shiba Inu site.)
These Doggos are Shiba Inus. They are very common in Japan.
One day my parents and I went to a bamboo forest. It was beautiful! The bamboo swayed in the wind and made a very soothing sound.
YAY! Now I get to tell you about my BIRTHDAY (in my opinion the best part of being in Japan)! Before my birthday we went to Universal studios. My parents tricked me into thinking we were going to a bonsai park but we were actually going to Universal! I remember the first place I wanted to go was HP (Harry Potter) world, and then we ate at an old time diner. Then we went to Hollywood world and rode a lot more rides. That's all I can remember from that day...OH! One more thing, I got a Slytherin necklace and some snitch earrings. Slytherin is a HP House and a Snitch is from Quidditch . Quidditch is a HP thing too. (Here is a wiki page for Harry Potter).
The morning of my b-day I woke up to the smell of PANCAKES😋! Once I got dressed I went downstairs to eat. After we ate, we went to the subway and rode to a store called Bic Camera. It was essentially a giant department store for electronics. I got a new Huawei tablet and some bluetooth headphones. After we ate at McDonald’s, we walked to the market. If you walk through the market you get to a street where the whole street was stores. First we went to a hat store and I got a black beret, then we walked to the shoe store and I got some limited edition Fila shoes. We left the store and were walking to a cake store to get cake since we didn't have an oven.We got four different types because they came in slices and we got:Chocolate, Lemon, meringue & fruit meringue. Now, moving on to when we left for Kamakura. We arrived there by bullet train. The train was a lot faster than most trains. For example: if we took a normal train at a normal speed, it would have taken us 5-6 hours, but since we took the bullet train, it only took 2-3 hours!😱
A few days later, I met a girl named Yuu~chan, and she didn’t speak much english. My parents' friend’s mom came with us, and she helped us communicate.
A few days later, I was going to go ziplining with Yuu~chan. The way I understood Yuu~chan was because her 2 friends came, and they both spoke good english. When we got to the ziplining place, we put on our harnesses. After they explained the rules, we were off! There were 7 ziplining courses, and each of the courses got taller and longer. One of the ziplines was about 75 meters long and about 18 meters off the ground. OH MAH GOD!
In Kamakura there was also a beautiful beach. The water was completely clear with no trash at all. It made me happy to see no trash anywhere.
