Hello there random person reading this! I’m Emmette Driessen and I have been on a 9 month trip with my mom and dad. So far I have been to Galicia,Spain , Cangas,Spain , Galway Irland, Scotland And India. Now I'm in Kyoto, Japan/Finland .
Today I will be writing my blog for India.
Let's start from the beginning.
The day we got there a guy came to pick us up. He took us to a guest house and the beds were all so HARD. The next day a lady named Debalina had a small bus we would take to a concert. It was a small concert though. There were 5 other people. I can't name them all, but 1 of them was Debalina’s son, and his name was Ayush. About 1h 30m in, we took a small break to get some tea. While the others (By that I mean the adults) sipped on more tea, I asked my mom if I could go back to the bus and play on my tablet. She said yes, but only if I played with Ayush. I agreed, and I went on the bus and asked if he wanted to play minecraft, and he said “sure,” so we started playing, and then before we knew it we had arrived at the place of the concert. Me and Ayush played in a forest, and then went and had lunch, and went back to play. About 2 hours later it was time for the concert. My dad, Debalina and some other guys played and then we got back on the bus after the concert and went to another hotel-ish thing and had dinner. Did I mention it was Ayush's birthday?! We went to their little hut and celebrated his birthday and ate cake.
Then me , my mom & dad went back to our hut and slept, then in the morning Ayush and Debalina had left, and the other guys were still there so we went to a market and then we went back to the guest house in Kolkata.
As soon as I arrived in Kolkata, I could tell it was not going to be like any other city I had been in… Can you guess why? It was because you can barely go anywhere LITERALLY anywhere without hearing a car honk or without seeing stray dogs, stray cats and occasionally cows. Also Kolkata has barely any sidewalks and you have to just cross the road no crosswalks no nothing for safety. For example a driver in a car will run you over and not care… Or you can't walk anywhere without seeing litter... It made me sad to see the stray animals because they were so skinny. On my last day in Kolkata me and my mom found a stray mom dog and we had some leftovers of food so we fed it to the mama dog so she could feed her puppies. a few pictures of Kolkata
The day we left Kolkata we were heading to Bangalore, where we would be staying with Raghu Dixit he is a famous Indian Musician. He had a very nice house with 3 floors and a rooftop terrace. Me and my parents room had a terrace and two single beds. My parents put the beds together, and then we asked for a mattress so I could sleep. So they brought a small mattress. I had to sleep on that on the ground.
Ok now i'm gonna tell you my favorite part about bangalore….Drum roll please🥁🥁…... It was a place down the road like 10 minutes walking, 20 minutes driving, and the place had these super good red velvet cupcakes they were sooo good because they had a very good cream cheese frosting and a velvety inside…
After we left Bangalore we went to Mysore. Mysore was the best place in India. It had actual sidewalks and no strays or honking it was so nice. The very night we got there we heard a knock on our door we opened it and two girls were standing there and asked if I wanted to hangout the next day and I said yes. And then the next day we went up to her apartment. Her mom came to the door, and we asked for the girl. Her mom said she was busy with homework, but the mom said that the next day she was free. The next day the girl came and knocked on our door and I opened the door. I went and got ready then we hung out for about 3 hours. I went back to my apartment.
Here are the girls and me from Mysore.
About 4 days later, my dad would be going back to Bangalore to play on a show with Raghu. I was also going because my mom would be walking up a hill that had over 1000 steps. And Get this, there are people running up and down those 1000 stairs. A car from the show came to pick us up and it took about 3 hours to get to Bangalore from Mysore. OH! OH!,on the way back to Bangalore we saw at least 7 different teddy bear stands. They had the teddy bears all sizes as tall as me or as big as a cat.
This is a pic from the concert my dad did with Raghu.
When we got to the TV station we went in to an RV. My dad got ready, and I worked on my song. Then we had to wait for about an hour, and then my dad went out to stage where Raghu was waiting. They played for like 30 minutes, and then me and my dad packed up. We got back in the car that took us to the TV station, and headed to Raghu's house. The rest of the day was a bit boring. The very last day we where in India, my dad and I went over to an Indian violinist’s house. He was a bit older than my dad, and he had his granddaughter over and she taught me how to play a game with paddle-thingies and a ball that had a dress. After playing for a while it was time for me and my dad to go to the airport, and it took about 1 hour. Once we arrived (I forgot to mention we have 3 LARGE bags, my dads gear case and 3 backpacks) we had to pick a restaurant to wait for my mom at. (She took approximately 3 hours.) Once she got there, we headed inside and got our tickets. Then we went to our gate and waited until 1 A.M. Then we boarded our plane, and we arrived in Japan.
